I received a email from a Detective in Illinois requesting my personal information for a case they are working on against The XLR Boutique.

Frankly I'm leery of this type of posting especially around the holidays.

I am going to try and do some more validating in case some of the members here are interested. But in the mean time please proceed with caution.

Identity theft is a huge deal and caution should prevail.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Jerry

I received an email this morning in reference to the Boutique being under investigation and requesting that I have no further contact with them.
It also gives me information on who to contact if I have had any losses
in dealing with the Boutique...

SORRY FOR THIS THREAD, I SEE ANOTHER THREAD HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED....
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL....

I received the email as well. I did not reply because my dealings with the Boutique in the past were all positive - quick delivery and top quality products. In fact, Mr. XLR was very helpful to me as a new XLR owner, even though he claimed not to be directly involved with the boutique he did help me with the purchases I made. Has anyone heard from him? I have not seen any posts from him for quite awhile.

I received the same e-mail and was a little skeptical myself. I called the phone # listed and Googled the investigator's name. Everything seems legitimate re: the e-mail. The officer told me it would be a good idea to contact my credit card company and report fraudulent activity because I had an active order.

This is an e-mail I just received. Some of you that have been around a while may recognize the name.

Dear Cadillac XLR Boutique Victims,

I wanted to update everyone on the status of the criminal case. I completed my investigation during the past week and I presented it to the Lake County State’s Attorneys Office yesterday. The State’s Attorney approved two criminal charges, Theft, a Class 3 Felony, and Computer Fraud, a Class 3 Felony. A Lake County, Illinois, judge then set bond on the warrant in the amount of $50,000.

I spoke with the suspect, Allen Kulbersh, and he agreed to surrender himself to me this afternoon. Allen was booked and processed at our police department. He was able to post cash bond on the warrant and he was subsequently released pending a Lake County court date of March 23, 2011.

You will be contacted by the State’s Attorneys Office at some point regarding restitution amounts, so please cooperate with their Victim Counselors. I apologize for the duration of the investigation, however, it was necessary for me to identify all the victims around the country and then obtain all their supporting documents. If you have any questions, feel free to email or contact me via telephone.

Sincerely,

Detective Adam Hyde
