I had been experiencing a noise from my rear end when I was turning (similiar to the plates in a positraction unit sticking) I mentioned this when I went into my dealer yesterday to get an oil change.

They called the factory and were appraised that there was a "new fix" for this condition. It seems that they use;
-- Positraction Additive GM PART # 1052358 (used in other GM models).
-- GM Synthetic Differential Fluid GM PART #89021669.

I have run the car some and it seems to have quieted down some and I expect it to go away after the new fluid and additive get to all of the rear end parts.

I'll let you know what happens over the next few weeks.

The Noise Started At About 5k Miles. I Had 9,200 On It Last Week When The Fluids Were Changed And I Did My 1st Oil Change.

As Of Today The Noise Seems To Have Gone Away Completely.

The noise is completely gone now after all of the additive worked its way into the differential plates.

I had the same problem on my '00 Vette convertible. Can't remember which oil was in it to start, but know they put the factory recommended one in to correct the problem. Unfortunately, that did not correct the problem so they had to go to some other factory suggestion. However, this time since the put the wrong one in they had to do it twice to 'flush out' the system. Not sure if it now has synthetic or dynosaur in it now, but the problem seems to be gone. My fear is that down the line there will be problems because of the earlier mistake. Needless to say, I kept the receipts.
