Can anyone tell me if the audio out from the On Star is analog or digital? I had a Kenwood 9960 installed and they have not been able to get the On Star audio to work. They found the mute signal, but so far have not been able to find the audio.

If anyone knows which wire and what format it is in the information would be appreciated.

If it is digital, I can build an interface if I know which wire, and can find out the format.

My 2004 has no dedicated Mute signal line for Onstar through the VCIM-it's handled via Class 2 buss. Analog audio (twisted shielded pair) leaves the VCIM for the audio amp. I think the big Onstar changes came in the '06 model year. Maybe someone with an '08 shop manual can check the schematic for you, otherwise it's a worthwhile investment to buy a set.
