I remember several old threads about 'clicking' or 'clunking' in the rear end with tight turns that could be fixed by changing the fluid. However my noise came at start, acceleration and lift off and replacing the fluid did not correct the problem.
Turns out it was excess play in the CV joints and both rear axels were replaced under warrenty. My car now has 36K miles and had 24K plus when I bought it as a one-owner used car about 2 1/2 years ago. Best guess is that my driving style differed enough from the previous owner to move the CV joints to another area of their operating range, thus causing excess wear.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I assume this may be a common problem with both the XLR and Vettes and most probably just live with the problem unless it becomes catistrophic.
