At highway speed (65-80 MPH) there is a noise that sounds like it's coming from the dashboard near the head up display. Noise is similar to a rattle from a loose washer. Seems to be wind related.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas? I have the GMPP extended warranty but the dealer says it won't cover a noise problem.
The car is an '05 with 45,000 miles.

So tell them something's loose and it might fall off and cause a safety issue. :D :D
I woulds suggest you check to see if everything is working as it should around the rattle area and if you can't locate anything obvious go ahead and spring for the labor to have someone experienced see if they can locate it. Limit the search to 1 or possibly 2 hours on the repair ticket.
Please post what the resolution was.
Good Luck.

Is the car still under warranty? If it's just a rattle, you can always go in there with a blow dryer (on cool) and see what makes noise it should, then make sure all teh connections and brackets are secure.

Had a similar noise in my '08 XLR. The IPC lens was rattling in the housing. They removed the IPC and insulated the lens to body joints. Put it back together and presto...no more rattle! :o)
The problem is resolved. I perfomed another inspection, this time underneath the car, and found a broken left front inner fender panel. I had it replaced and all is quiet.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Ive got the same exact issue at 52000 miles.
I will check under the car tomorrow. I remember noticing some clips the mechanics never put back while changing my radiator now that you mention it. Might be the issue.
Also what is IPC? can you be a little more clearer?

IPC = Instrument Panel Cluster. The 'Bulgari' in front of the driver containing the rev counter, speedo etc.
