Hello:
I recently purchased my second XLR, a 2009 Black Cherry
Edition. I'm curious as to the total number of XLR's produced since 2004, how many 2009 XLR's and how many of the 2009 XLR's had the Black Cherry Exterior paint. If anyone has this information available, it would appreciated!
Thank you in advance,

Total XLR production was 16,500
2009 production: 892
There is a disparity between the factory RPO color names and the dealer brochure names. I believe your color was called Dark Brahma Jewel at the factory; there were 56 total built, making it relatively rare. Its RPO code was 12U which you can verify on the sticker on the underside of the right/rear storage compartment in the trunk.
I'm pretty sure Crystal Claret was called Crystal Red Tintcoat. As Jerry correctly stated, its RPO code was 89U.
--Speaking of naming differences in external paint colors between factory RPO codes and dealer brochures, it's easy to lose track of naming conventions. Some colors have multiple names! Here are a few:
Light Tarnished Silver/Light Platinum, Machine Silver/Light Platinum, Blade Silver Metallc/Radiant Silver, Spiral Gray/Thunder Gray, Cyber Gray/GrayFlannel, Black/Black Raven, Luxo Blue/Xenon Blue, Le Mans Blue/Xenon Bue, Magnetic Red/Crimson Pearl, Red Blue Metallic/Blue Steel, Red Jewel/Infrared, Victory Red/Passion Red, Monterey Red/Infrared, Arctic White/Alpine White, Bluestream/Electra Blue Tintcoat, and my personal favorite: Shale/Satin Nickel
To add to the confusion, two years (2007/2008) have six colors listed in the dealer's brochures, but the 2008 factory production lists seven, and lists 2007 as producing Gold Quartz Metallic and the brochure listing Liquid Amethyst.
Do either of these colors go by other names?

In 2009 there were a total of 56 made in Black Cherry. 3 had ebony interior, 3 had two-tone interior and 50 had the cashmere interior.
