I'm going to try this on y'all first considering most of us are Caddy owners and some might also have the CTS.
Just got my wife an 2010 CTS. Based on our previous Cadillac experience, the leather seats are usually so nice and supple. These seem kind of hard (definitely not as hard as some leather seats though, like her '04 GTO). Of course my XLR-V is an entirely different experience because it's got the heated/cooled inserts that make the surface softer in those parts.
Does anyone have experience with the newer CTS and whether the leather and the seat itself breaks in over time to become soft? Is there a process where we can preserve the seats but break them in and soften them quickly?
Thanks for any advice.

I think Cadillac designs their seats for persons over 200 lbs. We had the same problem with our STS. On a long drive they were uncomfortably hard. I finally pulled the seat cushion which was not difficult and found three or four flat springs on the bottom of the cushion which were easily removed. The seats are still stiff, but conform to our weight much better than they did. The other alternative is to take it to a auto trim shop and have them modify the seat for you. I doubt you will see much "break in" on the type of foam used in the seats of today.

Jay:
I bought my wife a 2010 CTS as well.
The seats in it are much more pliable than the ones in her 2007 CTS Sport. See if you can adjust the firmness out with the 6 way adjusters.
I am assuming that you got the deluxe seats and features right??

I really appreciate both replies. I think we're already either getting used to the seats (after significantly less than 200 miles) or they might be breaking in a bit. In any case, Onalaska, I'll keep your solutions in mind; thanks.
Jerry, the car definitely has some extras including sunroof (and appearance mods we added at time of purchase). No lumbar adjustment in the seats but it has the power recline, up, down, tilt forwards, tilt back. This is our favorite dealer and we looked at a lot of their stock under the great offers they had going...and all around, she wanted this one.
And now, a picture of a very happy wife and what I think is a really breathtaking car. (I have pictures with different white balance, but I really kind of like the hard, steely light with this particular camera setting.)

Yea, As you get more 'seat time" it will soften up. They actually are comfortable on trips. Turn the heat or a/c on under the seat and LET HER DRIVE WHILE YOU NAP!!!!
I see you put "The Grill" in it. Looks Good....Real Good!!!
I got all wheel drive for her too. Of course there is no snow to contend with unless we go on a trip but in the hard rains down here it grips much better than 2wd and she feels safer.
ENJOY!!

Awesome car for sure! Yeah hang in there with those seats. I'm sure after a little while they will soften up a little bit. A few chrysler cars are like that, too. It takes some getting used to and a little time, but it softens up really nice over time. Congrats on your new purchase! :)
