Hello all, i have been watching this fourm for a while and have learned a lot. I have a 04 XLR that had 36000 miles when I bought it. It now has 50000 miles. I have not had any signifant problems until now. Last sunday my car was sitting in the driveway and a lady came to my door and asked if that was my car in the drive . I said it was and she wanted to know if she could look at it and take some pictures. I said OK and went out to show her the car. It had come a rain shower a few hours before and it had some water beaded up on the top. I put the top down whitch was bumb and water came down on the console and the top switch. The top completed the cycle and acouple minutes later I put the top back up and everything thing was fine.Three days later I went to put the top down and nothing happened, it would not even lower the windows.I checked everything and put a NEW fuse and still nothing. I'm thinking I may have a bad switch. How do I get the switch out? HELP! Thanks Griff

Do you have a message on the DIC? It might be that the 'separator' in the trunk is out of place. Make sure the engine is running first too.

Need more info before suspecting the switch. Does the trunklid raise/shut normally?

There is no message on the DIC and the trunk seperator is in place still nothing happens. I figured out how T to get the console plate up. It simply unsnaps using a small screwdriver very carefully. I have taken the woodgrain parts off the shifter and I see a allen screw on the shifter that I think will remove the shifter, but I'm very reluckant to do so. Has anyone had the shifter off before? I need the shifter off in order to remove the switch. All help will be apprecated. Thamks Griff:seeya

Loosen the allen screw and the shifter will follow.
