Hello and fingers crossed for Spring's early arrival!

Advice on this forum and elsewhere has been to make sure that I get a GMPP extended warranty on a used XLR-V, since that, like the original factory warranty, covers the top.

My question is whether buying a car that has been Cadillac Certified, which ostensibly extends the original factory warranty from 4 years/50K miles to 6 years/100K miles, is the same or different than this GMPP warranty. As a follow-up, is one better or worse than the other?

Thanks for your patience with a newbie,

A Cadillac Certified Warranty is different than a GMPP Warranty.

A GMPP Warranty has a deductible option from 0 to $1000 depending on what you are willing to pay. It takes over after the Certified Warranty expires and can run for up to 7 years.

I recommend you check into the GMPP now because there are criteria for purchasing a GMPP warranty one of which is that you have the original factory warranty in force on the car now.

I suggest you contact Allen Black of Black Cadillac for a quote and the criteria. He has a very good reputation selling warrantys and the price is right.

Please let us know how this comes out.
