I have the SRS light popping on every now and then. Took it to the dealer and they gave me the whole shenanigan of the sensors are busted. Cant drive the care and been keeping the care untouched for 3 weeks now only to find that they cannot locate the part.
The SRS error also causes the check engine light to come on but that is not as frequent as the SRS...Any suggestions? :cry

Greetings Lisa,
The intermittent airbag system warning light could be an indicator of a true problem within the system, especially if one of the sensors is starting to fail. Either way, it's worth getting fixed right. Mine has come on intermittently a couple of times, only to go away for months at a time.
The Check Engine Light sympton is most likely unrelated, since the diagnostics pertaining to and the systems themselves are independent of each other. It could be something as easy as a loose gas cap, (the light will usually stay on though) or an intermittent glitch. If the light comes on and stays on over several iginition cycles, it's a good idea to have the dealer run a five-minute diagnostic check to see if any fault codes pop up.
I'm not sure why you aren't driving your car, unless it's sitting at the dealership awaiting parts. It's driveable, right?

Thanks Clarke! I have gven it to the dealer but they returned it and are waiting for the part. They said not to drive it- for a reason i dont know why. Maybe they're scared the airbag will pop up for no apparent reason. It's perfectly drivable.
How the dealer cannot get a hold of the part is just beyond me... I will have to go give it in to them again for the check engine problem.
