Can anyone that has installed bluestar tell me if it uses the display on the dash to display the number called or the number that is calling?

If you're referring to the BlueStar PnP unit from CoStartech, no it does not. There is no display at all, it just connects your phone to the speaker and microphone used by OnStar, and it does disable your OnStar.

My next question is, does anyone have an Iphone 3gs with the voice dialing that has the bluestar. Does the voice dial work over the bluestar or not.

Good question, I have an IPhone 3G that works fine, but never tried voice dialing. It's a 3G so it doesn't have the built in voice dialer but I have the VoiceBoxDial app. I'll give that a try tonight and let you know how that works. My guess is the IPhone will have to be in a location to pickup your vice because the ONStar mike and speakers are not activated until a call is connected. I keep mine in a stand I bought that plugs into the cigarette lighter; serves two purposes 1) charges the IPhone 2) allows me to see the IPhone screen for caller ID

I appreiciate it. I have an 850 on my truck and it works great. One of the best handsfree units I've had. Ironically I bought a 1000 for the Allante and it was usless, not to mention $700. so I am leary of some of them although the bluestar uses an 850 witch is what I have in the truck so I guess I will get one. I just wanted some input from someone who had one.

It does use the 850 straight from Motorola, and has a circuit card that attaches to oit to communicate to the XLR OnStar system.

I tried my voice dial and it worked, but being an APP on my IPhone 3G, its not integrated with the phone so the Voice recognition and dialing is done by the phone itself. The instructions that came with the BlueStar state you can use the leftmost OnStar button and it will handle the Voice Dialing through the mike and phone on equipped phones. I can't confirm with my mobile phones, none have integrated voice dialing. I would suggest going to the website and emailing your question, the folks there were very responsive and helpful.

My only gripe is that there is a slight delay for the calls to connect through, just have to hesitate a sec before I say hello. My guess is that is cause by the XLR OnStar recognizing and connecting a call, not the 850. Mines an 05 which had a slower communications system for OnStar, i believe either in 06 or 07 that was upgraded.

It's not the 05 it's the 850. The one in my truck does the same thing. It is a little annoying but you can get used to it. Sounds like I will order one after I get back after the new year. Thanks for the help.
