Hello:
I am close to buying a 2005 VLR with about 5000 miles.
No Warrentee.
After reading alot of this site, I have two concerns:
1) Top: Can I manually raise and lower the top if it comes to that?
2) Does anyone know of a "XLR certified" tech in Minnesota? It seems that the person doing the servicing if very important.
Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the XLR Forum!!!

TOP: Yes it can be lowered manually. There is a special wrench that is used but some members bought wrenches that fit the bolts at the hardware store.

The process is simple but you will need to read up on it in the owners manual or here on the site.

Best Wishes

JerryI have an 04 I bought last November. I had some top problems right off the bat. At first raising or lowering it looks intimidating, But after you do it a few times it is a snap. The good news is it is usually the sensors and they are cheap. If one go's out have them change them all. Once I got them all changed I have had it up and down twice a day for 6 months and it has worked perfectlly. Buy the car. It is by far the coolest thing I have ever had.
