When I first start my 2006 xlr the rpm's will fluctuate between 800 and 1600 for a few seconds. Has anybody else had this problem? I've had it in several times and cannot find the problem. I have less than 10,000 miles on the car. First time I had it in they cleaned the fuel injectors and that seemed to help for a while. That was two years ago.

Walter;
Welcome to the XLR Forum!!!
FWIW; I haven't heard of your particular problem but it is normal in my experience for the car to try and adjust to the correct air fuel settings for a few moments after startup.
I do not think that you have a problem. After buying my XLR, I immediately notices it has a longer warm up period than most modern cars, maybe 30 seconds to a minute. (My Cadi STS and Acura CL do not do the same thing.) It is not quite as bad, but it reminds me of the cars in the 1960s and 70s. Knowing that it reduces wear on any car engine to let it warm up a few seconds before driving, I use the rough startup as a reminder for me to slow down to let the car warm up before driving, to put the top up or down, adjust the radio, etc. (Just about the only time I slow down in this car.)

By rough start, does that mean that the rpms on your car fluctuate, too.
