turbo kid 10-11-2009, 05:44 PM Hi I am looking at a 2004 caddy xlr(to buy) and would like to know what chassie it is on.I was told its on a c5 vette then I was told its on a c6 vette chassie.Is the trans/rearend in the rear like a vette or is the trans bolted to the motor?Thanks for any info.Dan XLR I FL 10-12-2009, 10:44 AM Dan: Welcome to the XLR Forum!! The chassis is all XLR and not a Corvette part in any way. The transmission is rear mounted in front of the differential. Early models are 5 speed and later ones are 6 speed. Many/some of these trannys are used in Corvettes I am told. The motor for both the XLR and the XLR-V are Northstar motors and not chevy small blocks like the CTS "V". (You didn't ask but....)
