2004 XLR, dealer fixed the trunk leak (which did not actually fix the trunk leak). Next, the rubber drain out the bottom of the driverside well in the trunk, you know the place that holds all the expensive top and ride control stuff, well the drain hose shrivels up and clogs. So it rains, fills the well, now no trunk and no top activity.

Seems spending more than 25 cents on a drain is justified but Cadi didn't ante up. So I'm buying the FSM, and digging into fixing this myself. Not going to give the dealer $4700 (out of warranty).

Wish me luck!

Good luck with your top issues. You'll probably need more than a FSM to fix it though. The hydraulic pump alone is $1532 retail. Hopefully, you won't need to replace it. If the Folding Top Control module is fried, you need to use a Tech 2 to calibrate the system after replacing the FTC module.

There is a service bulletin out regarding trunk seal repair for your year. The best way to verify a leak repair is to have someone in the trunk with a flashlight while the car is hosed down (This is how they check it at the factory.)

Let us know how it all works out.
