Hi All...I am new to the forum, I just bought a 2004 XLR...my question is:

Does the Corsa Exhaust make the XLR exhaust louder?

Thanks
Jim

Jim: Welcome to the XLR Forum!!!

As you will see as you look arund the site there is lots of vaery valuable information here for your car. So if you don't see what you are looking for just ask and many of the members will respond shortly.

YOUR QUESTION: YES it does make the car louder since the system is designed to reduce the restriction in the factory exhaust and increase your performance somewhat.

There are several posts on the various OEM exhust systems in the Technical Section that may provide you with more information.

Thank you XLR I FL.

I have already used some information from this site on the stablitrak, (can't remember the members name) I had a problem with it Saturday so I took it back to the shop today and handed them the post from here. They have the parts ordered!

This is a great site!

Welcome to the forum Jim!

I installed a Corsa system on my car about four months ago, and can verify that it does result in increased noise in the cabin. It's sounds pretty cool from 1st to 2nd, but can sometimes get annoying in the lower gears when traveling at city street speeds, compared to the sedate stock exaust.

On the highway, it shines; no drone -just as advertised. --And when you stomp on it . . . every unleashed pony screams with delight.

I have a Corsa system on my other car, (CTS-V) and other than the pops on deceleration when it's cold, sounds like an animal in heat; (--at least I think that's what it would sound like if you were to strap a pair of cat backs on one.) The XLR system is a little quieter at idle, but it must be something in the cabin's architecture that seems to amplifiy it more at the lower speeds.

Overall, the Corsa sounds really nice and the twin chrome tips dress up the rear of the car.

BTW, Magnaflow makes a good system for this car too.

Again, welcome!

CC :cheers
