My suggestion is to go on the Discount Tire site (one of our sponsoring vendors ) and see what sizes they recommend for your rims. They have seen it all and know what will rub and what will not.

I would also see what the discount Retailer near you will share with you. I have found them to be very helpful (sale or not) with information abut tires and rims.

You could go one size bigger, a P245/50R18, but you may not feel any real difference in handling by doing so. Your current tire size is ideal for the stock 8" wide wheels.

How tall are P255/35R20's ? I have some on some nice wheels, will they fit a stock XLR ?

Yes a P255/35R20 will work. Check this out >> Tire Size Calculator (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/info/tmpInfoTireMath.jsp)
How wide and what is the offset on the 20" wheels you have? Did the wheels come from another XLR or Corvette?

Thank you ! They are on some "Jesse James 44's" they are 20" X 9 1/2" with (approx) 7/8" more outside offset. They are right at the line at the top of the wheel opening of the car body. Approx 7/8" more to the outside than the stock wheels. These wheels and tires were on a 2004 XLR and I wanted them for my 2008. Problem is, my car is lowered 1" in the front.

Is the rear lowered too? Your going to have to test fit one on the car and make sure they will clear everything. I'd like to see a pic with them on your car providing that they don't rub. :thumbs

Is anyone running the 245/50/R18 size on stock XLR rims? If so how do they look, clear, and perform? I would like the look of the extra width and perhaps they would help protect the rims from curb rash. I am not sure that we need run flats either.

I got 245/45/18 on mine and let me tell you I would not get them again since they rub on the inside wall when making a sharper turn plus the turning radius is way less then the stocks. I gotta get new tires in the next 2 weeks since they are ready to be change and I am going back to stock. Now if you are going to use 245 on the back thats cool but don't forget that you can't rotate them then afterwards. Also to my knowledge the CPU in the XLR is set to use stock tires and changing sizes does affect the speedometer.

One of the things I will do when it's tire time on the"V" is to get them all the same size so they can be rotated.

The newer Michelin's seem to do a lot better as far as wear goes.

Also you might want to check Discount Tire on this forum for their latest deals. We get a "Forum Discount" from them.

Good to know. If I do go with a larger size I will limit it to the rear. Thanks
