My '07 V has developed a number of nasty squawks in the top. I think they're coming from the rubber seals in the top. As the car twists during cornering, I think the rubber seals are rubbing against other rubber seals or against the fiberglass causing squawks. I've got some Krytox that I've used on the seals on an Allante that I had that stopped the squawking problem on that vehicle. I'd like to do the same on my XLR. Is it OK to stop the top in mid open or close cycle so that I can put the Krytox on the seals and then resume the opening or closing without causing any problems with top operation later? Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Sure, the system on all verts (that I'm aware of) are designed to be able to stop at any position during operation. Primarily for safety reasons, but no reason you can't stop the top so you can inspect it or perform maintenance.
Probably does not matter but if I were you I would make sure that when I finished inspecting it I would resume the operation by completing the action started. Finish putting it up if your were going up when you stopped or finish going down if you were going down. I would also complete a full revolution of taking it up and back down again just for grins.

I agree, actually, the easiest way to clean the inside of the rear window is to halt the top movement so you are able to easily reach in with the top about perpendicular to the ground.

.....AND be sure you operate the top only with the car motor runnng. It does draw a lot of power..
