Looked it up on google and found the name associated with luxury items, but what is the history of why this name is used in several locations on XLRs?

The XLR interior styling team called on Bulgari to "class up" the XLR's interior. The IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) gauges are their most obvious input. Bulgari was happy to be involved in something so diverse.

The final IPC design was a compromise, because Bulgari's logo is repeated twice on a circular standard --see the detail on the XLR fob they designed. Critics slammed the attempt as a vain ploy to make the XLR more upscale, but the design, --like their watches, is clean and modern. It sure beats putting SWATCH or TIMEX on the IPC!

For those who just can't get enough, there's a limited production Bulgari XLR watch out there. They appear on eBay from time to time, (sorry, another unintended pun) but like the rest of Bulgari's offerings, they aren't cheap.
