I'm going to get new wheels for trixie. The factory wheels are a 45 mm ofset. All I can find is 38 or 38 mm offset. they tell me this wont matter but I wanted to check here to get an opinion. CCClarke, what's your thoughts. Is this OK?

Obviously, offset will vary by wheel manufacturer; the XLR's is unique, but not a show-stopper when it comes to finding something that activates your salivary glands.
You're pretty safe with any of the major brands, as they thoroughly research the XLR's dimensions before offering them. D3 has some nice wheels, as does Foose. http://www.chipfoose.com/wheels.aspx --The Speedsters look really nice on this car. Like food or women, taste is a very subjective thing, so my opinion is irrelevant. If they fit and make your heart skip a beat, go for it! Post pics too, I'd love to see what you choose. Maybe it will motivate me to upgrade as well!!

CC is right...as usual.
FWIW: The only other advice I would offer is if you decide to do an exchange or buy outright. Please be sure to have the person that will be mounting the tires check the new rims out beforehand. You want to be sure that the balancing machine is happy with the rims i/e they are in balance and there is no excessive lateral runout or out of round conditions.
Also check the overall quality of the product--chroming/finish to be sure you are happy.
I know it sounds odd but you would be surprised at what happens...at the plant or during shipping. I just went through this with my "V" and I am real happy I was standing there to see what each wheel looked like on the machine (Hunter).
Most wheel places state that if you mount a tire on their new rim you own it then and there!!! No exchanges refunds whatsoever-etc.
Just a word to the wise.
I hope you find what "Floats Your Boat" and as CC said please post pictures.
(Mine are chromed "V" wheels--works for me)

What do you think about the fitment of Jessie James 20" "44's" (all chrome wheels with real 44 shells in the spokes) with Sumitomo 355, 35, 20" tires? (all 4) I think the wheels are 9.5" wide, but I don't know the offset. I have a boat customer who had an "XLR Neiman". He sold the car stock and has the wheels, tires, sensors, ready to go. I know they do 'touch' on tight turns, but "the price is right!" Do you know anything about these wheels/tires? I have lowered mine, about 1 1/2" front and 1" rear, so I may pass these on to someone else if they don't fit mine. Thanks for any info!

Azgeo:
I would be real cautious of putting those wheels on your car since it is lowered. If you know someone who has a open lift you could experiment by placing them ono the car and then slowly lowering it to stock and then your lowere height to see what rubs. this approach which has worked well for me in past adventures also let you see what wil happen when you turn the wheeels "lock to lock" at the various heights.
Please be careful parts are becoming harder and harder to obtain now tha the car is no longer in production and the suppliers are still leery of the "New GM".
Post a picture and let us know what you decided when you get a chance.
