OK...I have been at this car for way too long and it may be coming to an end...

I have gotten so may opinions its not funny about the electrical engine harness. The dealer tells me the 05 harness GM part number has been superceeded by a new number which is the same harness for 05 and 06 BUT in 05 the car has a 5sp AT with external computer. In 06 the car has an internal computer with a 6sp AT. Someone, please explain how the "same harness" can be used or IF it can be used for sure. The dealer has very little knowledge, the tech I have been working with has good knowledge but not in this case and

Says.. 2004-2005 with a 5 speed has a TCM (trans controller) that is mounted external from the trans. 2006-2009 6 speed has an internal TCM. (inside trans). I see no way they can be using the same harness for both. I would think a 2004 would be the same as a 2005, before a 2006.

Anyone have or know where i can get an 05 engine harness and fuse block?

You might try this link: http://www.autosalvageyards.com/

Select "Enter Engine Wiring Harness" in the search item pull-down menu, and they'll search salvage yard data bases for you. Good luck!

Occasionally, Schram Auto Parts has a wrecked XLR available.

For an authoritative answer to your wiring harness question, you'll need to contact Bowling Green Assembly and hear it from an expert.

I have tried almost every huge online search site including paying a fee to do a yard search without any results... NOTHING. Tried ebay sellers who had XLR parts including the yard mensioned above, I am stumped..

I want to talk to someone in Bowling Green, anyone with a contact number and name?

roadan:

Unfortunately, the XLR people have been reassigned or let go because the XLR is not being made anymore.

Hopefully one of the members will know somebody who knows somebody.....

mtrocket runs a shop similiar to yours and rebuilt a wrecked XLR for his own use. He may have some more suggestions.

If you have the original part number for the '05 harness, you could try www.partsvoice.com You have to register but from there you can search OEM dealers' inventories from across the country using the part number and maybe come across a NOS part. Other than this, I really have no other ideas.
