I have a 2005 xlr.I took it to the dealer for routine maintenance. I had the radiator drained and flushed.Ileft the dealer and 30 minutes later the car was running in the 240 degree range.I took the car back and the dealer said there was a air bubble in the system and addressed the issue.Again same problem. The dealer then replaced the thermostat and said this was for sure the issue.Same problem after this repair.Help has anyone experienced this issue.Remember the problem started after the routine maintenence procedure.I am seven hundred dollrs down and VERY FRUSTRATED with the dealer. I love the car and glad to be a new member.

I hate to say return it to the dealer but it is the right answer.

You just may also have a bad water pump. Believe it or not this is a fairly easy fix ---while you wait change.

Of course they will need to test to confirm that the water pump is the culprit.

Please let us know how this comes out.

Was it overheating before you took it to the dealer?
