I checked my service manuals... the XLR-V has three belts, the XLR has two. The diagrams that are shown are not really much help in showing exactly where the belts are ran. If the old one is still there (which, from your post, sounds like it is) before you remove the belt, draw a quick diagram showing the different pulleys and whether the belt runs on the inside or outside.

I was hoping you would be the one to respond rocket since I know u have the manuals but I was guessing that was going to be the solution that I would have to do. Will let you all know how it went and the difficulty of it!

Why are you having to replace the serpintine belt??? It usually lasts forever.......

How many miles are on the car??

Please be sure to get the proper tension settings on the pulleys and check each one for excessive wear---bearings--etc.

Shouldn't be too difficult... the manuals say route the belt while the car is on a lift, then lower to the ground and put the belt on the tensioner. Probably easier to route the belt from underneath.

Only reason I am going to replace it is because it's squeaking...Unless there's something else I can check for?

There's arond 64,000 Miles on her.

Mines going into the shop Thursday for the same thing. The belts are making noise while the engine is cold/warm. After it gets hot it gets quiet.
I have 68k on mine.

Isn't there a belt dressing available to quiet the squeeks. If there is no wear in the belt it is a shame to have to pay for a replacement.

Yes, WD40 - LOLOL ...
It works, but has limited effect ...

It's a good tool to determine if it is the belt making noise or a pulley

I'm OK with tossing $$ at the car from time to time
