My cruise dosn't work when I first start the car. While I'm driving, Usally about 5 or 10 minutes it will beep 4 times and the red x will flash 4 times on the HUD and then it will work fine. Is this normal. Does the radar have to warm up before it works?

No, not normal, although I've never heard of this particular problem.

I just had my 2005 XLR serviced for something similar. Adapative cruise would work for a few minutes...and then it would kick off the cruise and give me an error on the info bar (by the speedo/tach). It was intermittent for the longest time...then finally started doing it repeatedly. Dealer / service guys found the "radar" unit in the front was bad...covered under my extended warranty.

I finally got Trixie's cruise control fixed. The acc module had went bad. $1200 wholesale. It, as everything else right now was back ordered but I found one in Oklahoma. works great again. I remember when $1200 was an engine rebuild, not a cruise control repair, but It is great to have it working again.

Good idea but it's the car. That was originally my boat name and it has stuck with everything from the allante to the email. The XLR has truly earned it but in the big picture I've still had the X for 8 months and spent about $3500 on it, Still less than they wanted for a one year extended warrentee. If I had it all to do over I would still buy the car. I really love it.

......and THAT is all that counts!!!!!
