I checked my cabin air filter (filters the air coming into the passenger compartment) the other day just for fun and found it to be FILTHY; car has only 4800 miles!! Figured it wouldn't hurt to prompt everyone to check theirs as it's something that most of us don't think of. The access door is on the right side of the firewall, just above the battery... a $25-30 filter and a piece of cake to change...

Good job, you really need to check that filter bout every 6 months if you drive it year round, and don't forget , if you been negleting it you should check it again sooner after the replacment. It depends on how dirty the air is and we all know the answer to that. My bmw has to cabin filters, 120.00,so don't ask the service to replace it if your not covered.
