Hello,
I recently replaced the battery in my 04 XLR, and now the radio does not come on. The screen, all the buttons, everything is turned off, and i can not get it to turn on. Everything else seems to be working fine. Is there some sort of reset for the radio or what? some help would be great, no music blows lol!
Thanks
Justin

2nd did you try and push in the volume knob on the radio??? It should turn everything on for you.

If the volume knob switch was off, wouldn't the screen still show the clock?
To me, this sounds like a fuse issue, but I just got my car so I'm not too familiar yet with any of the electrics.

anyway yep i prob pushed and held the button in for like 2 mins straight. ya nothing works on it. clock nothing. but after reading a post yesterday, it reminded me, that when i shut the door the windows dont go up the whole way anymore. and in another post someone said to take the battery cables off for a few mins and it should fix it?

What I assumed was that the dealership would have put everything back in working order when then completed installation of your new battery.
You may want to make a list of stuff and go back to the dealer and make them set everythigng up for you. Especially if there is something more wrong with the radio other than it being turned off or blowing a fuse as JayInAtlanta pointed out.
I am sure it would be a "while you wait" fix. you shouldn't have to redo everything they should do it.
HERE IS THE WINDOW RESET PROCEDURE:
Top Does Not Function After Battery Disconnect
Models: 2004-2008 Cadillac XLR and V-Series
Condition/Concern:
Anytime the battery is disconnected or if the battery is in a rundown condition and requires a charge such as in an extended storage period, the windows need to be initialized in order for the top to operate properly. The top will not operate and the windows express up and down will not function unless the window module knows the window position. This will occur anytime power is lost to the window module; for example, when the battery is disconnected.
Recommendation/Instructions:
To initialize the windows both doors must be fully closed, then push the window switches to the up position and hold for five seconds. Once the window module learns the window's position, the top will operate properly. If the door window express up or express down function does not operate, use the window initialization process before attempting any repairs.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
