So, I've had more than five years of loving the XLRs. I saw them built at Bowling Green many a time when I was a Corvette owner. And I've had three years of aching for a V. Long story short, I just got back from signing on an '06 Infrared with Ebony interior, from a dealer 50 miles away from me.

This really has been my ultimate car ambition since the day they started being made, so I guess I join y'all as one of the happiest people alive - an XLR-V owner!

Be ready to spend extra time in parking lots and gas stations. The car draws a lot of attention. Congrats on your purchase. :seeya

Where in Atlanta??? We live in Kennesaw just off exit 4 575. Also belong to peachstateposse.com corvette group and NGIvettes (founding member) and Classic Glass Corvette club. Must get together. Have not seen another "V" in town yet.

Jay,
Congratulations on the new ride. I spotted your car being advertised and sent a local friend to look at it. He decided to go another route with his vehicle purchase and I'm glad it worked out for you.

I have the twin to your car, a 06 Infra red V with the ebony interior. There were only 58 of these built and we have two of them.

It is a sharp combination that I'm sure you'll enjoy as much as I do.

Congratulations,

Bob

Bassman - I too "was" (not sure if one ever loses membership) a member of the Peach State Posse as my wife and I owned two Vettes prior to this car. I live in Decatur and work in Alpharetta.

I am almost positive it was exactly the same, JayInAtlanta. It's what I've used on multiple car forums in the past.

I'm new here and seriously looking at a Infared 06 V as well. Interesting that there are only 58 built. The one I am looking at has 40k miles and will be CPO. Originally was looking at a 05 XLR, but decided if I was going to get one I had to have the V.

Hi, I pick up my V today. Black on black, 06. I've also had two corvettes, the last a ZR-1, which I gave to my son to keep it in the familly. It had 150K miles on the clock and still 374 HP at the wheels.

Good luck with yours.. I'm stoked!

Welcome, and congrats on the choice of car and the choice of color (love the black/black)!

By the way, just like I thought I'd be since '04, I am madly in love with this machine. It fits me perfectly, relaxes me with luxury and the features I need, and turns into a completely different beast when I'm on the throttle hard.

Jay:

--- Off Topic... WHAT ABSOLUTE CRAZY DRIVERS YOU HAVE UP THERE!!!! I just got back from a trip up and back to Dalton GA in less than 24 hours form Jax, FL

ATL is insane!!! I am surprised you haven't been hit yet with 6 lanes in each direction and drivers driving 95 plus miles per hours crossing all six lanes back and forth 2- 3 times in less than a mile and then getting of at the next exit.

I thought I was an agressive driver on occasion but I've been fired!!!

You need a metal!!!

Welcome to the V board Rusty. I bought the red 06 in Dallas about 6 weeks ago and we have been having a blast driving it every weekend. It's still hot here in Texas so having the top up in the afternoons makes them tolerable.
Looking forward to a trip to Bowling Green and on the the East coast in a few weeks. Everything works well except the passanger's heated and cooled seat and I don't think the exhaust flow control valves are opening up above 3500 RPM. Minor stuff I can get fixed easy enough. My last car with this kind of HP was a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T and it was not this fast.

Tell me about it. I am shocked myself that I survive the 80 mile round trip every day. Thankfully, I'll be transitioning to a home office soon and don't ever plan to make that kind of daily commute in this insane drivers' city again.
