I am selling my 06 XLR with 46,000 miles on it but it is GM certifired till 2012 or 100,000 miles. What kind of dollar value does the certification add since it is transferrable?

My guess would be in the neighborhood of $1,000.

Others will comment, I'm sure.

Peace of mind. . . priceless!

Used car values vary by geographic areas. Convertibles are less desireable in Fairbanks than say, Fort Lauderdale. Any warranty included with a used car makes it more palatable in the eyes of the buyer. While it's difficult to pin a particular dollar amount to the added security of an extended warranty, it will certainly make your job as a seller easier to move the vehicle. Ultimately, the market will rule, despite what the Kelly Blue Book numbers recommend. Times are tough and luxury cars aren't moving at the rate they were two years ago. In my humble opinion, the values in the market for used cars right now couldn't be better for someone with the money to spend and the dilligence to do the research to ensure they get the most bang for their buck. Good luck with your sale!

CC is right on point.

The cash value may be $1,000 because it has 1/2 of the term left to use. But to the ducated buyer you car should sell faster than one without the warranty.

You may want to post your car with asking proie and pictures on this site too. There has been a growing number of "XLR Shoppers" visiting here for information and direction to a good car.

Good Luck and please let us know how it the sale goes.
