It doesn't stand for anything but a series name:

"X"-Series Luxury Roadster

What is it with the auto industry's Xs and zs anyway?

In aircraft-ese an"X" in the tail number used to mean experimental.

NX-211. Charles Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis".

Just a guess.

There's always just "X=n", where X is the solution to the problem. Esoteric?

Naaa. X probably means they couldn't think of anything else.

Just add an "8" to the end and you'll see. ;)
