Hello,
Just purchased a 2004 XLR, what is the easiest way to reprogram the key fobs. Want to set the seats up for myself and my wife.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike:

Welcome to the XLR Forum.

to answer your question, do you have access to the owners manual?? It should be in the glove box. there is a reag good section that explains how to set most everything in the car to your personal preferences.

If the manual isn't available I can get my manual and walk you through the process.

Just unlock the car with let's say FOB #1 for YOU. :yesnod

Adjust everything the way you like, then hold the #1 button on the driver seat until it beeps two or three times. That's it.

Repeat the process for FOB #2 for your WIFE. :yesnod

The only one left is the exit setting. Adjust seat and steering position you would like to have when you exit the car and then hit and hold the exit button. You're done. :thumbs

Good luck.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the info, seats are solved and set!

I am now having an intermittent problem with the Adaptive Cruise Control. It will work fine about every third or fourth time in the car. All other times we have a "Service Radar Cruise Control" message. Is this a problem that a dealer needs to fix? Tried cleaning the lens on the front of the car but problem still persists.

Thanks again,
Mike

Thank you for looking the FOB info up for Mike. I brought my manual in from the garage today and was going to write him a response but I'm too late.

MIKE: SERVICE RADAR CRUISE CONTROL--Never seen that one before. You did the correct thing by cleaning off the lense first. It may be a loose connection but I am guessing. Have you tried to change the distance (gap) and see if lengthing the distance will at least get it to function??

I really like the feature now but wasn't too thrilled at first. It's too bad the "V"'s don't have it at all.

Yes, I,ve changeed gap settings when the cruise is working. When the "Service Radar Cruise Control" message is active cruise will not engage.

I had this alert once on my car. I cleaned the lense (left side only) and sprayed wax on it to make the water pearl and slide away. Never saw it again.

Tried cleaning the lens and that did not work. Was thinking of popping that lens cover off and cleaning the laser cover. Any suggestions?

Thanks again,
Mike

Mike,

If the car is still under warranty, it's time to take it to the dealer. If not, go ahead and wipe off the radar head and check the electrical connections to make sure everything is tight. Who knows, there may be an accumulation of dirt back there.
