Hello to all,
I bought my black on black '06 in Sept. and absolutley love it. I've been researching this site, Google and went to Cartoys to find ways to hook up my ipod. Alot of you have mentioned Coastal Electronics but they are sold out and most of the info here is at least a year old. Does anyone have some fresh experience with the XM receiver hook up or another vendor? Thanks for any and all help.

Regards,

I've been using the Neucleus in my 04. I went through a few different ones, but this was the best I found.

It hooks up to the XM module adapter which sits right above the globe box, just below the LED backup display. Take the 4 hex screws out of the glove box it's that simple. I routed with wire between the rug and plastic behind the drivers seat and into the center console. The Neucleus tucked into a small slot between the steal crossmembers and the trunk floor, just out of the way from where the top sits when down.

Note: Some units need to hook up to the head unit, this one hooks up to the XM box - the harness is perfect for the XLR.

It intergrated nicely into the NAV unit and also has a bypass mode to operate the IPOD itself.

I wrote more about it in this post.

Here is the Manufactures web site - note mine is an 04, GM changed from the "Audio Bus" to their newer "GM-LAN" in 06\07 (not sure) make sure you get the correct unit - also if you are the newer GM-LAN you might have newer\better options. For me this one works

I checked this website and the XLR is not listed for any year. I also spoke to the technical guy who soundeded so determined that the part did'nt exist. I feel like I've stumbled across an CIA coverup.

Strange - I had called them a few months ago to see if they had any firware updates that might work better with an Iphone 2.0. They did say that there wasn't going to be any future updates on it because I have the older GM audio buss. I think Crutchfield was selling it too? bizzare.

As I look on Google i see it for sale on Amazon?

One other thing\fearure to mention - All the other units I played with would not allow you to use the IPOD once you pluged it into the cable. This unit allow you to press F4 on the NAV screen and it then allows you to use the Ipod while it still charges and plays via the stereo. Regardless of interface, the small touchscreen buttons on the X's Nav can be a pain and the whole thing is a bit of a challange to search artists and albumes, I often flip to manual mode which was a another big sell sell for me.

I ordered the Soundgate brand from Logjam electronics. (Logjam? Was'nt that the name of the porno from "The big Lebowski"?) They told me the device was created just about a year ago and sounded confident it would work. I will have a full report after instal.

Yep, standard on '06.

I just called the LogJam company and they said they didn't have anything for an XLR. Let me know if that works, I have an '06 and no iPod is killing me...

The Soundgate product from Logjam electronics works great and comes with three harnesses to be used with or without XM radio receiver. I am very pleased with the quality of sound and the ability to use functions of the ipod is on par with the other brands.

Could you possibly send or post the link to the unit your purchased? I have a 2006 with XM and need my iPod hooked up in the worse way.

I see 3 units for GM cars:

Soundgate GMPD2 2003-2008GM Class II

Soundgate GMPD3 2006-2008 GM LAN

Soundgate GMPD4 2004-2008 GM LAN

Anyone know if one of these are the correct model for my 2006?
