I had the top stick on the new XLR the other night so I made an appointment with the dealer for monday. I wasnt very happy but it must be fixed. I read through all the posts on top problems and noticed alot were intermittent. So I went out to the garage tonight and low and behold it worked, Many times. So I will cancel my appointment tomorrow. The last thing I need is to take it in and have them tell me we tried it and it worked every time, sorry, That will be $80. I'll just play with it for a while and learn how it works so I am not intimadated with it. Dave

Dave,
Thats great! Thats what we all try to do, by posting info on how systems operate and what is needed to correct a problem, many times individuals can avoid the drive to the dealer with a simple understanding of the problem.

What was your issue with the top anyways.

It stuck about halfway down one time and it stoped as soon as it folded in the trunk the next. Both times I was able to get it closed by moving the switch from up to down alot of time's. each press weather it was up or down it would move up about an inch with a little pulling. Once it reached the header it latched and closed properly.

I hope you read the note Allen posted a short while ago regarding not trying to put the top up and down withou having the engine running.

The top operation draws a lot fo battery power and has on occasion caused the battery to get low enough to not start the car.

I still would have the dealer go through the top operation and be sure you have the latest solenoid switches and software installed. It will save you a inconvenience later on.
