i was curious how many owners have gone through a carwash and had water come through the drivers side window and also come through the passenger side and after taking the problem to the dealer they state that this is normal and this is after a major accident i had in the car because it used to not leak water. it is and 07 xlr-v with 13580 miles also find moisture in the trunk. any help on this matter would be great thanks.

I can tell you that its not normal for the car to leak..anywhere!!!

Is this the dealer that fixed the car after the accident??? Was your insurance company involved??? If so I would contact them and get their help to ge the car fixed properly.

You should also talk with the Dealer General Manager to see if he will help you as well.

Let us know how it comes out.

Possible Cause of the leak.

You didnt mention where on the drivers window the water is coming in,
Where the roof closes there is a cup in the rubber windshield pilar mldg. There is a drain hole there, If the cup is slightly folded over by the side roof w/strip instead of sliding in to the cup water will come inside the car instead of draining out. I have seen this happen and it is easy to correct by making sure the side w/strip slides into the cup. Pull the top back a bit to showing the exposed rubber cup that holds the side roof rail when completly closed.

If it is cool outside after washing the rubber may bend over and block the hole, just simple watch for it and if it happends you need to reposition the lip of the cup.

sorry for the delay at this point the head of service told me what the problem was if it was a collision issue or a warranty issue? i was rear ended 4 months ago and they had to take top off to install new trunk and about a month ago the stripping around the windows was fading so they replaced that so it this point we will see what happens still seems strange for the service guy to act like its normal to leak!
