Well SOMEBODY must have a TON of louvers lying around and made deals with most of the car manufacturers to get rid of them.
So far I have seen them on the following 2009 cars:
XLR
Saturn
Jaguar
Rover
Lexus Suv
In my opinion none of the cars look good with them on.
IF you see more, add an email

Every so often it's something .... in '57 it was fins ... 50 years later it's vents ... On some cars I quite like them. I think the Escalade looks great with them :thumbs ... I agree with you though, the copycat effect is disturbing.

Another one with "new" vents are Ford Superduty pickup trucks.

The Cadillac CTS also have them. I saw a Florida SRX at Red Noland Cadillac in Colorado Springs where the owner had them glued on. They were chrome on a Black SRX. Remember back in the 30's my Grandfathers car had them all along the side covers of the engine, you opened and closed them by hand. Also the 40's and 50's Buicks had them. Robert

OK, Robert you just qualified yourself for knowing way to much. Yesterday I was thinking about the louvers, but they weren't louvers, they where doors that you could open to get some cool air in by your feet.
And the bonnets as they call them in jolly old England also had those louvers all along the sides of the bonnets and on top.
Every new car I see has them. Is this all the car makers can think of to excite people about their cars?
When I find them, I'm putting pods on the side of the fenders and the rear quarter panel just like some of the vets. I may even put a hood scoop on it just to really screw it up.
