Im getting a steering wheel vibration when Im driving the car over 60mph, as when you let go of the wheel you see it vibrating from left to right really fast. You don't get it thou when your driving on lower speeds... now I did have after market rims and tires put on but they have been all balenced and the tire size is 245/45/18 so I don't think that should cause a problem? I don't know where else to look to correct this?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys!

I also have after market rims and did experience this problem at one time but it was around 75 mph. The dealer (Bruce) did a 4 wheel alignment and the problem went away. Hope this helps.

Did the problem start after the new wheels and tires were installed? Try moving the front tires to the rear and see if the vibration goes away.

By moving the tires from the front to the back how would that solve it?

Balancing just means that the wheel will not bounce up and down because of a weight off balance. Balancing does not eliminate bad rims (shape) or bad tires (shape, lateral or radial runout or force) or alignment problems.
The best question was asked by Cadillac Tech. When did the problem start?

It started when I got the new rims installed...

This is your first clue about finding the problem. There maybe something wrong with a rim. :skep Have the rims checked...

Rims may be damaged (Bent). Did you install new tires at the same time? Tires are the most probable cause of problems like this.

Wow found the solution it seemed as thou you must torque the lug nuts to specs I guess when the dealer uses the impact gun its not specific for a certain car and thus they just tighten it till its tight...So what did I do you ask? I searched the forums found that the lug nuts need to be torqued to 100ft.pds so I pulled out my torque wrench and did my magic and BAM no more wobble in the steering wheel so far!!! I will see when I take her out for a highway run at around 90 mph if it wobbles but I will post that later to come...

The rims will probably returm to the original shape once they have been torqued following the proper sequence and to spec.
Good finding and good luck.
