Can't see why not. If the engine isn't running, the belt is moving and your A/C won't work anyway. Your fan wil run, but in a minute or two the cold air will be gone from the system.

I never give it a thought,,,,,, I push the off button and crawl out of the car! The only thing is that the car may start with the A/C on. But if it's like other cars that I've had, I think when the starter is running all the other electrical circuts are shut off.

Nope, never did that and I don't believe there is a reason for doing so.

Also why do I alway have to hit three buttons to switch the A/C on every time I enter the car:
1. Push the PWR button.
2. Push the A/C OFF button.
3. push the inside car logo to get the cooler air from inside the car instead of outside air.

Why doesent it recall it like it was in my corvette C6. After I turn on my corvette I then just hit the Power button and the A/C is set to the last setting wich is ON.

The A/C compressor isn't engaged when the engine is cranking. It engages only after the engine is running.

Sorry but this is just plain getting silly. My heater/A/C is on all year, never turn it off. Just raise and lower the temp to get what you want.:banghead

If you have to do all this every time you enter the car. There is definitely something wrong. All you should do is basically set the temperature to whatever you want it to be and forget about it.

So you guys turn your engine off without pushing the PWR button first to switch off the A/C?

Yup. . .

Just forget about the A/C controls--simply set it for the temp that makes you comfy.

The XLR was designed with the thought of your radio, A/C or heater being left on when the vehicle is turned off. It is not necessary and you are doing no harm by not turning off the accys. first.

It's called Retained Accessory Power (Radio, windows, etc...)
(RAP for lack of a better acronym:glol)

The A/C obviously shuts down when the engine is not running.
