: XLR in Robb Report
COMFORT ZONE 05-20-2008, 05:39 PM The new Robb Report just came out. In the issue "30 great machines", the XLR has a multi-page article. It has some great pictures and tells a lot of nice things ------ That being said, it also tells a lot of bad things.
It is a very mixed article. One quote is "The top takes 30 seconds to go down.... and 30 days to fix." (I agree with this quote. It took them 3 weeks and 3 days to fix my top)

This is a very brief part of the article from Robb Report Collection. Robb Report always comes as a two magazine set. This is in the collection magazine with this months issue. The article goes into much more detail. You can find this magazine at any Barnes & Noble.

Find the magazine and read the whole article. They tell it like it is... But even after that, you get the feeling they like the car and look forward to seeing it improve.
standby 05-21-2008, 06:57 PM I'm not to happy with mine either. My seat really looks used. After BG, I'm going to put insets in and on the doors in leather. But what color? Red, brown, black or chartreuse.:glol :glol

Pink.
standby 05-22-2008, 11:31 AM I know I was trying to be funny with "Chartreuse", but I was really looking for some ideas as to color. BTW, I have the light interior

Bobo,
You mentioned this earlier in another thread and I thought you said a nice coco brown to two-tone your interior. Wish I had the V, but don't want the velcro:lol :lol

standby 05-22-2008, 12:17 PM Yea Cubby,
I was contemplating it about 8 months ago. Guess I should have stuck with a black interior like my 04. If I get them, after BG, they will be in perforated leather, like the Suede.............oops, I mean Velcro like Floyd says. No matter what it's called, it won't take much more to make them look nasty.
I have extractors ordered from my 2001 Daytona 500 edition GTP Pontiac ordered, and if they come in time I will have them painted and either install them or bring them with me to show how nice they would look on the hood of this V.Bobo,

RickH 05-22-2008, 03:13 PM I bought my '05 last Sept. The dealer replaced the driver's side seat cover entirely, but Cadillac must use a very low grade leather, because it already is showing a lot of wrinkles and some wear.
I would have thought that for the price of an XLR, they factory boyz wouldn't have been so cheap with the leather goods.
standby 05-22-2008, 03:50 PM Sorry Rick but this is a man made suede product. It is not leather. I may ask nicely that they put leather inserts and side panels on the doors.

Yup - but I just have a lowly XLR, not the bigboy V. (My wife won't let me have power tools either.):nopity
Isn't the interior on the regular XLR leather?

YUP!!!
Pay more. . .get less!!! :banghead
Following the factory tour last year when about 10 of us were asked to have a little meeting with the Caddy folks I mentioned not at all liking the "Velcro." They were totally mystified as to why I didn't like the "rich look and feel."
Did the meeting do any good???? You probably have guessed it. . .
