I'll make it short. The airbag's warning light appears SOMETIMES. The first time I took it to the dealer, they said there was no major problem and they cleaned the sensor(airbag sensor). The second time they did the same. The third time they changed the passenger's airbag sensor. The forth time, they said that they cleared the code(they claimed it was a programming error). Now, the light still appears sometimes. I really gave up hope with the dealership HERE!!!"
did any1 experience a similar problem?
Help please !!

Opps! I was going to post that we had the same problem, but the light that was intermittent for us was the fasten seat belt one .... they found a broken wire under the driver's seat that was shorting out (broken) ....

Mine will come on during hard acceleration and then resets itself when the ignition is turned off.

Nice too see you posting, we will miss you this year, but maybe next we will do Vegas for about 5 days.
Would that be cool?

I'm more of a Lake Tahoe type but Vegas would be good. Most anywhere in Colorado would be nice as well. Or a return to the scene of the original crime :party

I actually gave some last minute thought to going this year but I have some family stuff with my Mom that takes priority.

We opened escrow today on the new place. Next stop for all of the BBB crowd will be one hell-of-a barbeque at our place!

And Bob's right - good to see you posting more often!! :cheers

JetBoy,
Hey, nice to see your post. :) Was hoping to meet you at RIII so that our blue steel twins that were seperated at birth could reunite.:party I was telling Lola's Mom :angel yesterday that there's no way mine will look as sharp as yours did last year. Hope all is well out in Phoenix.

the same exact problem of mine

Mine started after the aftermarket intake was installed. I had the aftermarket exhaust for about a year before that with no issues. They reprogrammed the ECU when the intake was installed so I am not sure if it is an airflow misread or the car is going faster than it thinks it should so it throws the airbag warning. Hasn't been enough of an issue to get it checked. The dealer that did the intake warrants it through factory warranty but I also don't want to risk not being able to keep up with the C6 either :reddevil so I am leaving it as is for now.

Have you gone to an aftermarket intake or air filters?

I installed Corsa Exhaust and K&N Air Filters.
I was wondering,in our case, does that mean if there is a real emergency the airbags will fail?

A lawyer would say yes, I'm guessing they would still work fine.

Mine's the same as well.
After installing the Volant intake system, flooring the gas pedal and holding to down usually gets it to come on. Especially at the track. :thumbs
It was a little unsettling the first few times it happened but now I'm pretty much use to it.:banghead

I have the same problem since I had my intake and exhaust changed and was told that the micro-processor turns OFF the Airbag sensor system when there is hard acceleration and the speed excedes 120 mph.
My understanding is that with the Airbag sensor system OFF, if you have a wreck, the Airbags WILL NOT DEPLOY!

WOW!!! That's definitely not good!!!!

I would want to know if the air bags were disabled as a result of a Vendor ECM change or not.

I think I would want to go have the dealer run the diagnostics on the car to at least be sure all of the safety equipment was/would be working to spec. MONEY WELL SPENT!!!

All

I have had the same issues, but when I took it into the shop they indicated the code that was set as it relates to that issues was a Low Voltage indicator - so they replaced the battery. This fixed the issue for about 3 weeks and it has started to happen again.

I have added the Volant air intake, but I have run that air intake for almost 8 months before this issue came up.

Well I guess I to am in the Air Bag warning club. My 05 just started displaying the warning light about a week ago. And yes it is a bit unsettling. I have an appointment to drop it off on Wed. 26 Aug. My local has a certified repair tech so we will see what he has to say. The manifold and air intake are stock so it can't be related to that.

Hi Gang,
I guess nobody has found an answer as to why the air bag warning indicator keeps coming on!

Or has anybody?

Just had the same thing happen to my 09 V. Got an e-mail from onstar diagnostics that there was a problem with the air bag. Called onstar for an onboard diagostic check and everything was OK. Didn't drive or start the vehicle for about a week in the cold weather and then the battery was low. Had it charged and ran it for a good period of time as the computer was re booting. Went to drive it the next day and the airbag warning was displayed. Called the dealer and made an appointment for next Monday. Restarted the vehicle to drive home from work and the code went away. Now what???????? Code still shows up on online diagnostics through onstar.... but not in the vehicle. Every time I take it to the dealer they keep if for 2-3 days, only good thing about that is the last two times I had it in for warranty work they gave me a new CTS-V as a loaner.
