Hi all - I've searched the forum but don't see anything like this and I could use some advice! I have a stunning :thumbs '04 that's had afew minor issues in the year i've owned it but in the last 3 months it's developed a whopper. Several times a day at no particular time or speed the tranny seems to - hard to explain - wallow for a few seconds. It feels very much like the tranny either dissengages or jumps up a gear then back. I've taken it in for service and they drove the car and said they definitely felt the issue. However after reflashing the system and checking it front to back they couldn't find the problem and told me to come pick it up. The facotry warrentee expired but they told me since it was reported under warrentee I have 12mth/12k miles on the issue. I really want to get this fixed I love the car. What are my options pressing the issue with the service dept? Can they just say "don't know" and that's that? I wouldn't think so but have never been in this sitation before so could use some adivce. Thanks!

Don't know where you live, as you didn't fill out your profile, but you could always attend RIII, you can read about it here in the Forum.

I'm pretty sure you'd get some input from the various Caddy reps that will be in attendance.

Can't hurt to try--besides you'll have a GREAT time!!

It's hard to believe that the dealership, "drove the car and said they definitely felt the issue.", then told you to come and pick it up. :crazy

If it is still persisting, I'd be in the to see the Service Manager for starters and then up to the G.M. and beyond if necessary - especially since they felt the issue.

It's not going to fix itself or get better with age. You may have to do some fist-pounding on a desk to get this resolved.:smash I'd also ask and see if the tech that worked on the car has had XLR training.

Didn't Eddie Murphy have some tranny problems a few years back?
