Hi, I started the car, turned it off briefly and restarted. Engine light came on. Will BOBO's famous reboot clear the light or will it clear it's self. BTW I retighted the gas cap in case that was the problem. I think maybe the cold start and restart probably turned the light on. Any way any ideas.

Bobo doesn't think so, but hey, what hell. The reboot is from Hans in Germany. Every thing on the dash went berserk when I needed the car desperately and I called Hans and he had me going within 10 minutes. What a life saver that was.

I don't think the restarting was the cause of the light. I wouldn't try to clear the light until it can be looked at. You will lose the stored failure history.

If it was caused by the gas cap being loose, a bad cap or even filling the tank with the engine running and the system sucks air in, it could easily turn on the light. If there is no actual problem with the cap, after 24 starts of the ignition the system would reset itself.
Please keep in mind, there are other systems that could turn on that same light.

It happened to me 1 month ago. It cleared itself after the next fuel refill.

Hi, thanks for all the replies. This morning when I started the car up the engine light did not remain on so I guess the computer reset it. It was 5th or 6th start since the light came on.
Anyway all is well with the XLR.
