Hi everybody,

I took the front plate off my car today, since it's an abomination to have a front plate on this beautiful vehicle. Unfortunately now I have two holes in the front bumper that need filling. I stopped at kragen and got some generic interior carpet fasteners, but they're black (see pic). Anybody know if I can get body colour ones from cadillac, or if I'll need to paint them?

I guess I could also get a body shop to do something about it, but I expect that won't be a cheap proposition.

In MO. we have to have two plates on the car. When I first bought the car, I had one, and was stopped. It's not worth it, and besides, I'm not above the law.

That's the law here too, but I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for it. Like overtinted windows, I guess it's more likely that you'll get a ticket if pulled over for something else...

Yeah, I suppose. But California doesn't have a right to carry law. We do. So when a cop comes up to the car, they want to see where your hands are. HP are particularly hard on these laws.

I used a franchise called Parade of Colors. They do airbrush and minor repairs. I used them to plug some license plate holes on a Sl 500 I used to have. I was happy with job and paint match. I am sure workmanship varies by location but I paid less than $100. I see they have locations in Cal. They also buffed out a pretty major scratch some one put on the hood of my XLR.

I don't have a head on pic after they fixed it but they did a fine job. I had plugs in before this and just picked up some color match and painted it with the brush that comes with the paint.

It would be great if a dealer would do that here, but something tells me they won't... laws being what they are, and so forth. I'll head to the neighbourhood Cadillac dealership soon and see if anything comes of that.

Maybe not the most automated or beautiful solution for those of you that require to have a front plate, but the following seems a reasonable option:

I've seen remote controlled ones, but this one would atleast make an appearance if you were in your home state.
