I would like to get the newest navigation DVD for my XLR. Where is the best place to order one? Should I wait until BG III , will there be a newer one at that time?

I understand that the "new" versions are run in the Oct timeframe, so what is available now will be there in June.

Forum Members seem to upgrade regularly and many times pass on their old ones...........good luck.

That sounds great. My DVD is from 2004. I bought a certified 1 owner 2004 XLR.

I bought an 05 certified. About three weeks after I bought it, a new DVD showed up in the mail. You might want to wait afew weeks - maybe your'll get a freebie

XLR Ken is correct, the factory will use up the previous versions first then switch to the new version in the sept/nov time frame. The current 2 disc 7.0 version is the most updated.

If you wanted to get one, you can simply go to: www.gmnavdisc.com (http://www.gmnavdisc.com) there you can purchase them for just 198.00.

If you are an owner of a 2006/2007 model, you will receive 2 upgrades at no charge. If you were the 2nd owner and the first owner already received one upgrade, you are entitled to the 2nd at no charge. Simply go to the address above.

Thank you

Yeah, they can be copied... it's nice to make a backup to protect yourself from the inevitable scratches that will come with age.

I went to gmnavdisc.com and gave them a call. They asked me to fax them my bill of sale and then stated that they will send me the newest version of the disc for free. It is part of being certified.

Innnnteresting... I bought a certified vehicle, and the salespeople made no mention of that perk. I'll give a call to GM right now and see how it goes.

Oddly enough not many dealerships are up to speed on the NAV disk alternatives or for that matter the extended warranty options costs and features and functions.

Your selling dealer should have made sure you got one and let you know when it was on its way.

Thankfully we have Mr. XLR to keep us up to speed on these things.

Looks like GM doesn't have a record that I bought mine certified... I have to fax them a bill of sale as well. I'll post when I get a real answer about what's going on.

I just got a response from GMNAVDISC.com. They stated I will receive the newest nav disc within two weeks, with no charge.

That is another great perk of the certification. :thumbs

I faxed my stuff in yesterday, haven't heard anything from the Nav Disc people. I guess maybe I should call back.

I had to fax it 4 times and make 5 calls, before the fax got to the right person. It is a great deal, so I did not mind...

Hey Jim, I will gladly send it to you, but my car is an 04 and I do not know if the disc was ever updated by the car's last owner. I will check in a minute and see what version I have of the old disc. If it is newer than yours, you can PM me your address and I will mail it to you tomorrow.

Jim,

I just got the disc out and it is version 3.00. I assume by the dating on the disc, it is one of the early versions. What version do you have?

Jim,

I have a magellan, but I hate to clutter up the windshield of the XLR with it. It is easier to use than the Cadillac navigation.
