Just opened my issue and on page 28. it's talking about cadillac's to come and in the article it states, It's rumored that the XLR will likely be discontinued after 2010 and at the moment, no replacement for the corvette roadster is planned. Boy, thats a knife in the gut for all us loyalist.

Don't you believe it!!!!!!!!

I'd place a bet that Cadillac will keep the XLR as well as add the XLS (sedan) to the lineup. Everyone is making premium cars these days; GM needs to do the same to stay in the world market. And no Corvette in the GM lineup? I don't think so!!!

Speaking of the world market: Note to God: Please get rid of the DTS or give it some style (though I do like the interior)!!!!!!!! THAT should help Cadillac as well. Good grief, have you seen the new Audi's or BMW's?!?! WOW!!!!!!!! Are they SHARP looking!!!

AND GM seems to be trying to make cars that are the best in their class again rather than playing "catch up" with the competition.

Now that I've said that, I am aware of the diminishing XLR sales. Adding an XLS to the lineup should help the XLR sales. Maybe GM should start up a NEW ultra-luxury brand, like Toyota did when it birthed Lexus. TOTALLY different dealers and showrooms with a new attitude towards customer service and satisfaction... Imagine the possibilities!

Maybe we'll see more "gee-whiz" stuff added to the 09 XLR at BGIII. One main advantage of the (electrical) architecture of the car is that it makes adding technological stuff relatively simple.....

I hate to sound pessimistic, but with the sales of the XLR low to begin with, I can see where GM might scrap the XLR altogether. I've read that before a major model change is made, they will add a bunch of bells and whistles to the current model to boost sales ( and actually get rid of the inventory). It will be interesting to see the changes made this summer in B.G. If there are real changes, or just another bunch of add-ons to try and boost the sales

To be honest, I had to laugh when I heard that the '08 had a heated steering wheel. oooooooooooo---aaahhhhhhh, what an upgrade!!! I think they would have been better served to get the heated/cooling seats to work properly.

I hope that the XLR continues to live after 2010, because I'll be about ready for a trade. Unless there is a major body style change and upgrades to the XLR, I'll probably be in the market for something else to drive.

This is exactly the reason I don't come on this site much anymore. To many woulda, coulda, shoulda's, and a guessing game based on WHAT?
These magazines are in the business of making money and any news whether negative or positive sells magazines.
Speculating might be good in the stock market, but whatever happened to waiting until the new cars hit the dealers showroom floor, then you get to see the goodies or the no goodies.
While it's true that I ordered my 06-V one year in advance, I did get the word about the 443 HP engine that would be in it right from the horses mouth.
All this guessing is crazy. Let's make BG like Christmas and wait and see.
If my Traction control doesn't stop turning off when ever it damn well feels like it, I may just lemon/by back this one too, and won't be buying another one. Just for the record, I have thrown 22 codes showing my traction control off. Great way to get killed. Maybe they should have a lemon line at the dealers so their not confused with the other cars getting fixed.

I haven't had anything negative to say for a long time, so I guess I got it out of my system.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO We must stop this if it is going to come true....

home game room, you mis-understood the quote, they are calling the XLR a corvette style roadster. Nothing is going on with the corvette. If in fact this becomes apparent, I'll be bailing before the values really tank. Bill:banghead

I don't want to see the XLR get canned at all. But, if that happens, I'm going to be hanging on to my XLR-V and trying to by a parts car. It probably won't be worth anything much in my lifetime but my kids may be able to have something that's pretty rare and hopefully worth some money.
