Drew Carey gave away a Black XLR and a MILLION dollars tonight .... to the same guy .... :party

How pretty that X looked on stage!

I saw it happen. It was a beautiful BLACK XLR.

It was funny watching the guy try to open the door; not until one of the models came up with the key fob.

Not only did he win the XLR and a million dollars, but also the other showcase. He guessed the showcase price within $880! (his guess for the XLR was approx $84K).

He almost jumped in over the door! Lol. I caught the very end of the show what great TV.

And I thought I was the only red-blooded American male who was forced to watch the show by his significant other!

Another one! Yep ... tonight Drew Carey gave away another XLR! Again, a black one ..... very lucky lady. :thumbs :thumbs :thumbs

I was amazed though at how low the lucky winner "bid" on the car .... she was under by like, $24,000 ......

Made me wonder if she even knew what the car was :skep ....

Got Marketing?? :jester

It's not just Drew who is giving them away - so is GM. :lol

In fact, I would not be surprised to see them showing up on all the game shows as giveaways.

I guess GM is serious about clearing their deadwood inventory.

I don't know about that, Mswaim ..... on the same show they were trying to give away a Porsch ...... but the guy didn't win it .....:cry That must have been a heartbreaking loss ...

I'd still rather have the XLR .... and funny .... but the X had a higher retail value, the new Porsch was around $53,000 .... Since I don't pay any attention to what other cars costs, I have to admit that I was surprised that you could buy one for that price ...

We just had a guy who traded his '01 911 turbo for a '08 XLR ( the one we drove to RIII) and he couldn't believe how much more he enjoyed the XLR over the 911.

Oh my gosh .... the Silver Belle is gone?? Well, at least you got a chance to break it in right! :reddevil

Yep .... even on stage the XLR looked MUCH more stylin' than the Porshe ..... I think the X has just got a timeless appearance.

My brother in law says that when he sees me come around the corner that Lola always sorta reminds him of the Batmobile! That make me laugh ... :lol

Yes, she is gone :cry I was hoping they would forget about it and we could keep it. I think she went to a good home. The dealership sold two this week.:thumbs We still have an Alpine White and a Crystal Red Platinum Edition.

I was referencing Foley Cadillac's roll-out of GM employee pricing coupled with available rebates on all remaining 08's including the V.

Well I found out the powers to be did not listen to the attendees of RIII as while I was at Red Noland Cadillac yesterday they just received the 09 V and the warts, buckles, what ever you want to call them are still like they were at the showing at RIII. This is a Black, Black, Black. Really Sharp except for the vents. Sticker Price 105000. I like mine better. Robert

We got our first '09 in this week (Flannel Gray Platinum Edition) and yes, it has the side vents. It seems that people either love the vents or hate them.(most hated them) I like many of the other changes that have been made. During my road test I took it by Kathy's work and the women there loved the car. It is always fun to show the XLRs off.

Robin,
Is it any wonder that they don't listen to us? They have the power. I'm still waiting for back up cameras that sure would help in the blind spots.
So $5,000 for the bling or ding on the front fenders? See, they still don't believe they are over priced on this vehicle. I'll ride my until I use up my warranty and then see what's out there, maybe a horse.

Just to set the record stright, there was nothing on TV as I was working with my computer, so I had it on in the background, and it caught my attention when the XLR showed up. That is the problem today, nothing good on TV.

Nothing?????? Just curious .... what did you used to watch that was "good" TV?

And BTW ....how was the Las Vegas trip?? Did you go to Harrahs? Did you notice that obviously one of the exec's that works there has an XLR - it is always parked right at the front door .....

There is one for sale on Auto Trader right now, being advertised as "won on TV", guess she wants the cash instead. She apparently knows the price now, she wasn't giving it away.
