Proud new Huntsville AL owner of an '04 platinum exterior & black interior XLR as of 2/5/08. Found one in Dallas TX with only 21K miles. Been looking for about 6 months for the right one. Took the advice of some of you and got a high serial number car. It also checked out with CARFAX and with an independent car inspection service. Never drove one until it got delivered. Quite a nice machine. Also took some of you all's advice and have already made several mods: E&G grill, Corsa exhaust, rear sway bar, K&N filters, GG Bailey Custom floor mats, 20 inch wheels by Driv, 255/35-20 tires, 20 grade window tint. Car in paint shop now having a few minor mods done to rear - nothing drastic. I really enjoy and appreciate the info that everybody has put on this site.

Hooooooraaaah. Finally another Alabama owner joins the forum.

Captam, we live in the same area (HSV). I haven't seen a Platinum XLR in the area but I'll keep my eye out for yours. By the description of your upgrades, it won't be hard to spot. Your's make four XLRs that I know of in a 100 mile radius (1 Raven Black, 1 Red, 1 Xenon Blue and now you). You'll probably see my Xenon Blue going up and down the Parkway daily.

As suggested below, you must join us for the Rendezvous III (RIII) in June. I was the only one from AL last year........... XLR KEN

I was in the process of making preps to go to RIII when informed by my wife that we have previous obligation to attend a nephew graduation in Romulus MI on that very same Friday. Drat; was looking forward to the occasion (RIII that is). We had the opportunity to go to an F Body gathering in BG KY a couple of years ago; really enjoyed it. That Holiday Inn was the hotel for that event also - nice place to stay. XLR KEN: I'll watch for your blue ELR on Parkway; I'm down on south end of HSV, work on Arsenal. XLRAT: I got no before pictures; started modifying as soon as the car arrived. Will get some after pics and post them when it gets out of body shop for some minor modification.

CAPTAM,

Sorry you won't be going to RIII; I need some "good-ol-boy" support. I too have to venture onto the Arsenal every once in a while, but the wife wouldn't let me put Base Stickers on her XLR, so my truck is my only way in.

As to the "trailer hitch" that HOMEGAMEROOM references, we'll have to discuss that "upgrade" off-line to get the real story. Check out my AVATAR and you'll see the "option" installed. :thumbs

I hope to see you around town soon...............
