It appears our type of cars will become more rare in the future. All the more reason to never sell your XLR. Over the years I sold my Camaro, Challenger, Chevelle, 55 Chevy Nomad, 56 Chevy Nomad, and Toyota FJ Land Cruiser for a mere pittance of what they are worth now. The XLR is in storage this winter with my old Vette. I hope it always will be.

Part of that article reads:
This all dovetails neatly with Gem's announcement that the DOC "Ultra V," a replacement for the aging Northstar, has been canceled. The Northstar will go out of production permanently in 2010.
Instead of the traditional V, look for expanded use of the powerful direct-injected 3.6L V6 currently available in the CTS and STS. A caddy without a V might seem odd, but we thought the same thing when Lincoln announced the MKS wouldn't get eight cylinders underhood, either. That appears to be working out fine, and we're inclined to believe Cadillac will also have no problem making the transition. The DI V6 makes more than 300 horsepower in its current form anyway, and the General's pushrod V8s will still be around to service the Escalade and low-volume niche vehicles like the V-Series cars if needed.
Is this all part of the hush-hush rumors we have been hearing .... ?
Standby, is this what you were referring to with your remarks about "changes" last year??
No more NorthStar??? :cry
And what about the Corvette engine?? :eek
There wasn't many X's produced anyway, but if they start producing them with a whole different engine ... hmmmm, maybe Lola has been worth the trouble!

I got in so much trouble last year by informing everyone what was told me in confidence, but no one told me it was in confidence.
How about a radio that will record on a hard drive like your box for your TV in the XLR? Then pause or back up to hear something that was interesting or a song? What the hey, it's in the CTS now.
There are so many things we talked about on that phone call, we could be in for anything.
I do know that if they produce a smaller engine, My V is going to worth a lot of money, to bad I won't be here in 20 years to collect.
The one thing mentioned was the Corvette engine in the 09 X but who really knows.

I vote for the corvette motor and the ZO6 motor as an option and 6 speed paddle shift on the steeting wheel with a 6 speed manual being an option. 10" wide rear tires to get some traction on this beast. Dream on.....Bill (ocool)
I think you would see a great influx of buyers of this car from corvette owners wanting a luxury performance vechicle. (my 2 cents):yesnod

And the Vette HUD, gotta love that G meter. Personally I'm not impressed with the paddle shift application in the Vette.

:rant I don't know. If you put a Vette motor in an XLR, what exactly do you have? A CaddiVette?
After all just how many times do you go from 0 to 60 while driving in traffic? OK, once in a blue moon. I'm for keeping an XLR under the Caddie nameplate, engine and other parts instead of some sort of morphed thing between the two. :yesnod
(Just my two cents)
