Even though I have OnStar installed and active, I rely more on my cellphone (with bluetooth headset) while driving as people can hear me better than with OnStar. But I always had an issue with how to mount the phone so I could see it.
I stumbled onto ProClip, a company that manufactures mounts and phone holders. There is a specific mount for the XLR and then a specific holder for your type of phone. The holder attaches to the mount to form a unified and very sturdy unit (also good looking as compared to the universal mounts with suction cups).
You can browse the ProClip site at http://www.proclipusa.com

New food for thought ... thanks for sharing! Although anytime I hear the words "it mounts" that makes me nervous .... I have a hard time with holes being drilled into the dash :skep .... does anyone else feel that way?

Lola's Mom - no holes! The XLR mount snaps in place at the right-hand crevice of the temperature guage and the end of the metal console and the leather. Quite unique and simple. It took 10 minutes to install the entire set-up.

Here is an add'l photos showing where the mount attaches to the console. Unfortunately, I am allowed to upload only 1 picture per message, so I will post the other photo in the next message.

Yep, two squares of black velcro on each side of the slash where you put the nav disc in. The other on the back of your phones. Looks like it is floating in the air.Cost.............priceless. So organized! :thumbs
