: Windshield Washer Caution
xlrvtroy 11-01-2007, 08:07 AM If you have light upholstery, do not use the windshield washers with the top down. It will stain the passenger seat. I'm not sure about other fluids, but the factory fluid sure does. Does not affect the driver seat because you are sitting in it.
Lola's mom 11-01-2007, 10:13 AM Wow ... ! Never read that before .... great advice, thanks for sharing .... I assume you've learned the hard way?? :confused
Welcome to the forum .... :cheers
xlrvtroy 11-17-2007, 03:31 PM Yes, I did learn the hard way. And, three different leather cleaners would not touch the stains. The finally came off using Carbon-X, a little know cleaner available from Sporty's Pilot Shop.
XLR_Lover 11-17-2007, 03:58 PM Very happy something will clean that lousy Velcro!!!
Thanks a LOT,
Floyd
standby 11-17-2007, 07:26 PM Floydie baby,
That's twice you called it velcro................it's suede, which is fake leather. My seat & door panel looks dirty and I'm sure it is. I want to use leather cleaner on it but it's really not leather, so you think we should try this carbon X, and is Sporty's pilot shop on the internet or can you get this local.
Bob
Oh, BTW, Maryann and I went out for some ice cream if you can't find us.

XLR_Lover 11-17-2007, 07:32 PM Bob,
I've referred to it many more times than that! I even referred to it as Velcro when we had our meeting with the execs in BG. I know it really isn't Velcro, it just has it's properties! Ever try to change position?? No, you can't, the Velcro won't let you, unless you lift yourself off the seat-PITA!!!

XLR_Lover 11-17-2007, 07:34 PM Bob,

Sporty's is a catalog mail order house. You should br able to find them on the internet. I've bought things from them before. I'd give you a link, but you're smarter on the computer than I am.:thumbs

This stuff is actually amazing. Its non-toxic, biodegradable and good for aluminum too.
You normally mix it 20:1 but can use it full strength for tough jobs. I used it full strength on the XLR seat stains by putting a small amount on a clean rag and rubbing lightly. It left no residue.
I also wash the XLR exterior, wheels and tires with 20:1 Carbon x.
standby 11-17-2007, 07:50 PM OH Floyd, you have such a way with working your way around a bush. I have room with my small ass to move anywhere I want. Why do you want me to be the ginny pig and buy this stuff. You have plenty of time to do this one. I bought the ice cream last night & gave you some more HP for free. :nodno
What you don't know is Maryann made me...............small and put me in her pocket, ya know a mini me bobBob,
