"The Cadillac XLR-V, which has been available in Cadillac showrooms across Europe since April, is a further addition to the luxury nameplate’s growing family of high-performance V-Series vehicles. The XLR-V combines luxury with power, performance, personal amenities and style and is equipped with the Northstar V-8 supercharged engine, producing 331 kW (450 hp). Combined with a rear-mounted, six-speed automatic transmission, the XLR-V’s supercharged engine helps deliver 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 4.7 seconds..."

Torres, name me one daelership where I can buy a XLR V here in Germany and I`ll get me one.
This article isn`t correct, I just talked with people from Kroymans (Cadillac Importer for Europe) and they still can`t tell me when or if ever a XLR V or STS V will be available here.

BTW same thing was with the CTS V in 2005, the management from GM had about 15 cars for their own use here but you couldn`t buy a new one.

Believe me, I know what I`m talking about, I drive a XLR and STS here in Germany!

Hans,

Haven't seen a post from you in a while, good to see you back on-line and ready to go! Too bad the V is not available to you, I'm sure you could put it to good use! :thumbs

Thanks Mark, while I was for RII in the US my son changed the internet-provider and even now I have some problems with the new one.

Yep, I like Bob`s V very much and the additional 125 horses would sure fit me good, compared to my XLR:lol I might have to get me one in the US and have it shipped over just as my daughters GTO right now. Bob allways says it`s on the "Titanic" right now:glol

Yes, it always seems they contract with the slowest boats when you are itching to take delivery. :D

The photos don't look like 2008 models. I believe the 2008 will have the heated (no wood) steering wheel. The photos look as if there is still wood in them.

Ken, as I just said, the whole report isn`t right and the pictures show an o7 or maybe 06 model.

I know GM-Europe has one XLR V in light platinum/black interior in Meerbusch/near Dusseldorf but it`s an 07 model too.

Two years ago at IAA - auto show they had the V`s there already but you couldn`t order or buy any here in Europe.

Hans, I recently saw a brand new V engine on ebay for 3K! never used . Find a V engine and change it out cheeper then buying a new car. I do believe the engine I saw still needed the top blower etc. I bet you can find a complete V engine at a yard for about 5K.. Jim

Jim, thanks for your idea but I usually keep my cars 1 - 3 years and buy a new one than. Since I know there`s some bigger changes on the 09 model I would wait anyhow even if Cadillac could offer me an 08 V now.

Hi Bob,

do you think we can get a good discount when we buy two 09 XLR V`s in summer of 2008?

I almost gave up to get a V as an export model here in Europe and that`s why I think about to maybe take the risk of "NO WARRANTY" and buy one in the US, drive it there and have shipped it over here.
