I happen to be visiting San Antonio, TX for a wedding today. While driving through downtown, in my rental's (right, didn't drive my XLR here) rear view mirror, came a scary sight .......... a BRIGHT PINK XLR.

I slowed, switched lanes, and let this mirage pass us by. I just had to verify this event. Yes, it was bright pink, an XLR, top down, with Mary Kay Cosmetics plastered on it's sides, and a smiling babe, hair flying, zipped by at about 20 over the limit. I wish I had my camera!

Attn: Cadillac Corporate, Pat and Kurt, ........ isin't there some kind of law against this sort of 'rebranding'?:flag

About 10 months ago, I was told they were painting 10 of these for them. Way back in the very early 90s, Cadillac did about 25 Allantes in Mary Kay Pink. Back then they were painted on the line. These vehicles were authorized but painted in a custom studio for Cadillac.

Over the years, thousands of Mary Kay cadillacs have been floating around. There has always been a partnership between Mary Kay and Cadillac.

Exact same color :o . I saw one (XLR) in Nashville TN two days ago. I understand that they let them ride the cars for two or three years, then they paint them back to a "normal" color again. :rolleyes

i was surprized to see a pink XLR on the way to work last week about 10:45pm just south of flint,Mi. So i called my wife and she said the Woman with that car must be pretty high in MARY KAY.

Well here I was driving the other morning, and saw a little ahead something that glimmered and caught my eye. There it was a Mary Kay XLR. (Check Below)

I was told when they were painting them that they really looked like our White Lightning that we have in Cadillac with a little more rose in the color. Now that i have seen it in person, I would say it is 80% metallic White and 20% rose.

It was actually very attractive and I could see a custom White Diamond in the XLR.

The color on the X is still ugly. It's just another form of advertising for the company. It just screams MaryKay. Sort of like driving a NASCAR without the graphics :D

I agree with RA- having a pink car is quite an accomplishment for folks in the Mary Kay business, but maybe a nice understated bumper sticker would suffice....

I saw a new 2008 CTS this afternoon. Same light pink mica (pearl) tricoat color... definitely stands out!

I still think that this color is a blight on the automotive world.

Heck, if there is any subject that needs a Congressional investigation launched, it's this Mary Kay Co. weaseling into our XLR sphere.

I say, tow 'em all off to the nearest Destruction Derby.
